You may be asking yourself, who is this guy? Or maybe you would just like to know more about me. Or maybe you are just skimming around for keywords like “hard worker” or “determined” or “perseverant” and while I am these things, I mean only to tell you who I am.

I like to think of myself as an undrafted free agent in sports, these guys have a decent career in college and when the time comes to get drafted, their name doesn’t get called. This means one of two things: defeat or hustle. Most athletes always find a way to make the summers mean something, they join a practice squad, become a coach, or just stay active while they grind away to make ends meet. In a lot of ways I’m like that, after college I had nothing lined up, partly because of Covid-19, and while I labored in the heat, I still kept my priorities in check, I knew I wanted to make the big leagues because I feel like I’m meant to be there.

The undrafted free agent (or UFA) will be overlooked time and time again, just waiting for the opportunity to arise when they’re called on. There’s always someone better than you, that’s just a fact of life, but the UFA is always learning, always changing themselves to be the best version of themselves. They take and they give.

I relate to the UFA a lot, I feel exactly like they feel, sitting in wait ready to pounce on the opportunity whenever it arises. And if you must know, I love to cook, I collect cards of a wide variety, I try to read a bunch and I love baseball the most out of all sports.
